Try this.  Stand in front of the mirror and say “I trust you completely” while looking into your own eyes.

You will learn something about yourself.

I have had some issues in the trust department.  Seems some of people I chose to open up to ended up being temporary people in my life. People who just passed through on their way to somewhere else.

My biggest hurts have come from the decisions I made to judge these abbreviated relationships as wrong.  They weren’t wrong as much as they were just different than what I expected and hoped for.

I have longed for closeness and connection for most of my life and yet I have also struggled to be open and vulnerable. I remember being shocked to learn that if I wanted a man who was open, vulnerable and emotionally available, there was one big obstacle I had to get around first. I needed to be willing to be open, vulnerable and emotionally available myself. Yikes.

My relationships are like a house of mirrors. Some of what I see still scares me and I feel I am careening like a ball in a pin ball machine.  I am also beginning to see humor in other relationships and I am laughing more at the sheer silliness of some of the daily drama.

To think….it is only reflections of me distorted by imperfections in the glass. I am seeing myself differently when I review my steps to see what got me here. I am attracting more and more of Larry’s gentlest and kindest self and it is delicious.

If you are one who answered no to my question and you don’t trust anyone yet.  And you know this is true even though you wish it wasn’t.  I have a bit of cheer leading for you. You will be amazed at how easy it can be to take baby steps in opening yourself up to the right person.

As you move forward using the principles of the Law of Attraction and tuning in with clarity and passion, you are going to attract the highest and best of the people who cross your path.

There will be a person who shows up to help  you practice your skills. You will know this person because of how wonderful you feel when you spend time together.  I know you have been hurt before when you trusted someone but you are different now.

You are stronger and you always land on your feet. Go ahead and move toward a friendship.  Take it slow and enjoy getting to know the other person.  Everyone has a story, take time to listen to this new person’s story.  Ask a lot of questions.

If everything feels smooth, lean in to the connection a little and test the waters. You will be surprised how easy it is to attract the highest and best in people.  Practicing kindness and curiosity is the quickest and easiest way to form mutually beneficial connections.

Building trust is the very best investment you can make.

Wouldn’t it be nice if you could start a relationship with a healthy dose of hindsight leading the way?

Now that I am in my second marriage with a second soul mate, I have often thought how lucky I am to be getting a second chance to do things differently.  In my first marriage, I was so ill equipped.  My negotiating skills were non-existent and I lived in a constant state of anxiety trying to keep peace at any cost.

I mistakenly believed that if I could keep my husband from being mad, that I would live happily ever after. Sounds so weak and wimpy now, I cringe at the thought.  But in my 21 year old wisdom (bless me!) all I wanted to do was to live in a home where there was no fighting.  What resulted?

Two people who never talked about what mattered.  Never talked about our dreams.  Never talked about our challenges.  Never talked.  I signed on for this.  I chose to be this way. The Law of Attraction brought me the exact right partner.  I take full responsibility.  When we divorced it broke my heart.  It was then, after my cushion of time to restore my confidence in myself after we broke up that I thought, “Wouldn’t it be nice if you could marry your second husband first.”

It sure would save a lot of time and complication.

Imagine if you knew the pitfalls to avoid. What if you had the confidence to stand in your own power and create a partnership that could withstand the tests of time?  What if you could beat the odds of the 50% divorce rate and create an ideal relationship?  I believe that is possible.  Not only possible, but probable.

I am a little bit.  My son and his family live a thousand miles away and holidays are a little tough.

I love Skype and my grandson recognizes me and talks to me in his adorable 18 month old way.  It helps to have technology!  But a part of me is a bit sad and I am learning to acknowledge that part and to give it a voice.

In my decision to follow the principles taught by Abraham Hicks and the Law of Attraction, I used to think that any low vibration feeling was to be avoided at all costs. Now I realize that sadness, grief, loneliness or any other “negative” feelings are GOOD for me to express.

These feelings allow a wave of energy to wash over me and then through me.  Thankfully there IS a waiting time between our thoughts and our manifestations.  If not, we would be dangerous!! LOL

If you are lonely this Thanksgiving, here is a great exercise that will help you move through it and get to the other side. Instead of asking “How long will I be alone at the holidays?”  Ask yourself, “Why does being lonely bother me so much?”

If you want to ramp up the exercise, write the second question down with your dominant hand and then switch hands and write the answer with your non-dominant hand.  When you do this, you open a pathway of communication with a part of you who doesn’t get your attention very often.

You will be amazed at what you learn.

It never fails me.

When I need to raise my vibration and put myself into a state of delicious well-being, I have a sure fire tool.  Right now I am watching a Tivoed Oprah show and, just like magic, the waves of goose bumps are hitting me.

Not so many years ago, I didn’t think goose bumps were anything special.  When is was cold, I figured it was just a response to the temperature.  I got goose bumps lots of other times, but dismissed them.  Boy was I missing out on a spectacular Law of Attraction tool!!

Now I know for sure that goose bumps are a language of vibration. Abraham Hicks has taught me that keeping my vibration high is the key to attracting what I desire into my life.  I used to think that vibration was controlled by my thoughts alone and that my attraction vibe was a mind experience.

Whoa!  Was I missing the boat!  Now I know that there is a lot of power in the goose bumps and shivers that happen when something thrills me.  Vibrating emotion rolling through my upper body has become my personal attraction meter.  The stronger the vibe, the more in tune with my Inner Being I am. 

Like I said, I never knew that these experiences had so much to offer. I would sit in theatre productions, sports events and concerts totally clueless.  I took the goose bumps and shivers completely for granted.  Now I know that I can recall these times and use them to ramp up my vibe whenever I want.

Plus, now that Tivo is in my life (if you don’t have it….get it!)  I can create my own high vibe tool kit with the push of a button.  So what is my number one Soul Mate Attraction Tool?

Makeovers. On my Tivo right now is a “Oprah, Make Over My Man Please!” (taping date November 19, 2009)  Tim Gunn and Carson Kressley are making over boyfriends and husbands while the women sit stunned in the audience.  Seeing the before and after pictures always sends chills up my spine.

What really gets to me though, every time, is the looks on the faces of the family when they see their loved one madeover. Truth be told, for me any makeover show will do.  From What Not To Wear to Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, the thrills and chills put me in the frame of mind and good feeling place that is an exact match to how I will feel when my manifestation appears.  I have been known to keep favorite episodes on my DVR for MONTHS!!

Pay attention to those goose bumps….when your soul mate arrives, you will be glad you did!!

I hear from a lot of single baby boomers.

The stories they tell me are filled with drama and inexplicable misfortune and yet…they still believe in LOVE.  Against all odds, these wonderful, gifted, precious people hang on to the dream that their TRUE LOVE is out there somewhere….waiting to be found.
